Who we are

GeoGarage is developed by Magic Instinct Software (M.I.S.), founded in Canada in 1997 and now based in Nantes, France. Since then, the team has built its expertise around processing and delivering marine geospatial data.

What we do

The GeoGarage platform is a cloud service that distributes nautical charts derived from the official data of around 20 hydrographic offices worldwide. It serves two audiences: boaters, who access the charts as subscriptions inside our partner navigation apps, and businesses, who integrate the same chart data into their own applications through our API.

A pioneer in nautical webmapping

In 2008, the GeoGarage team was the first to offer a continuous online display of the complete NOAA nautical raster chart catalogue — 1,018 raster charts at the time — directly from our platform.

The GeoGarage blog

Alongside the platform, the GeoGarage blog has followed the world of nautical charting and marine navigation technology for years. It remains online at blog.geogarage.com, separate from the News section of this site.
